What We Do
BlackRook Academy delivers digital skills and employability coaching. We specialise in training social media content creators.
That training covers effective and tailored use of social platforms, writing and story-telling, use of AI, Google Ads, analytics tools and the whole arc of story-telling from deciding what content works to production – with in-depth coaching on high quality filming and photography with a smartphone, along with picture editing and use of graphics.
We have 15 brilliant industry coaches – all actively working right now across digital marketing, journalism, social media management, public relations and the hands-on technical disciplines that make good ideas great content.
Our trainers have been working with organisations internationally since 2012 – and we’ve coached and mentored hundreds of content creators of all ages.
Some had never posted on social media before… and now they’re earning money doing it.

Our Bootcamps are open to everyone over 19 and 6 months from any background with the desire and aptitude to re-train, seek employment, up-skill, return to work or gain new freelance contracts.
Our full-time, month-long bootcamps and day release courses for business are delivered in partnership with the City of Wolverhampton College and funded by the West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA). They’re available across Birmingham, Wolverhampton, Solihull and Walsall.
If you’re an individual or employee living or working in the West Midlands and earning under £32,000 per annum – you pay nothing.
If you’re an SME employer looking to up-skill staff who are earning over £32,000 per annum – you pay £338 per head. The remaining £3042 (90%) per employee is funded by the WMCA.
If you’re a company with over 250 employees looking to up-skill staff who are earning over £32,000 per annum – you pay £1014 per head. The remaining £2366 (70%) per employee is funded by the WMCA.
If you’re self-employed wanting to understand how to boost your social media marketing and earning over £32,000 per annum – you pay £1690. The remaining £1690 (50%) is funded by the WMCA.
